Celluma LED Light Therapy

What is Light Therapy?

Light Emitting Diode (LED) phototherapy is the application of light energy to tissue to support the body’s natural healing process. That light energy helps improve cellular performance, and phototherapy is widely known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties across many areas of medicine. Research has shown that phototherapy can increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, decrease wrinkles and inflammation, improve skin tone, texture, and clarity, ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, and spasm, and even help kill acne-causing bacteria — among other benefits.

How Does Light Energy Work?

Specific wavelengths of light, when properly absorbed, help up-regulate compromised cells. That light energy is absorbed by structures within the cell’s mitochondria and used to produce ATP — the fuel our cells run on. The ATP produced then drives a range of metabolic processes that support the repair and regeneration of cells and tissue. Clinical research has linked this kind of light therapy to relief from conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, arthritis, and shoulder and neck pain, as well as support for tissue repair in cases like fractures, torn cartilage, and nerve injury.

What is Celluma?

Celluma is unlike any other low-level light therapy device available today. Built on research originally developed by NASA, Celluma delivers blue, red, and near-infrared light energy simultaneously to safely treat a wide variety of conditions. Each wavelength is absorbed by different molecules that act as a signal for different cellular processes — some wavelengths reduce inflammation, some help kill bacteria, and others enhance localized circulation.

Light therapy is often used alongside Facial Acupuncture and Microneedling sessions, and can also be added to your traditional acupuncture sessions.
